Sue Sareen comes originally from Merseyside but now lives in West Bridgford, Nottingham, UK. She exhibits widely and has shown work both in the UK and abroad, winning several awards.

I’ve always been fascinated by light and the way it can throw the world into sharp relief or conversely can flatten it. I also enjoy the quirkiness of this world, the people and animals who inhabit it, and the narrative they unconsciously deliver.
Over the years, alongside my own work, l have also run successful painting courses and workshops, often combining these with painting holidays abroad. I’ve also published two books on watercolour painting along with 2 videos.
My work has been frequently exhibited and sold over the years, winning several awards in open exhibitions.
Much of my earlier painting was produced “au plein air” Today I enjoy capturing scenes and people using my mobile phone, later translating these, along side memory and imagination, into paintings at home in my studio.
